The Shift : Chapter 1 In the World

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

I know we are part of a larger global and planetary movement currently transforming our world. You may denigh it or be insensitive to it but it is going on nonetheless. It will go on with our help or without it. Yet our participation can further it’s progress for we are all connected and even our thoughts effect the world.

What is this shift? How can we make a difference?

It is clear that America is in transition. It can no longer be a lone world superpower, nor can we continue to measure power solely on economic of military terms. It is clear a new definition is emerging, and America can lead this movement of be at the effect of it.

Resources are dwindling worldwide and by whatever terms you measure prosperity unfettered consumption of natural resources and the resulting accumulation of waste cannot continue. Nor can we as a planet sustain the greenhouse gas emissions generated by a consumptive  linear lifestyle which is out of control. The acquisition of natural resources in third world countries by overthrowing legitimate forms of government and putting into power our proxies will no longer be hidden, and the viewing of these situations will come to light even further as these practices by large multinational corporations come to light.

Concurrently an expansion of the awareness of the interconnections world wide are becoming more apparent. Whether it be our effect on the environment or our effect on each other, communications are making this a smaller world indeed as government are having a harder time controlling the information to subjugate populations and allow pollution world wide. We are all effected, and we cannot send all the waste into space. The linear thinking of waste and conquest are empty when seen in light of the whole. You can hope for to be gathered up into heaven, but tomorrow you most likely will wake up in the world with the same problems and concerns you went to sleep with the night before. Doesn’t it make more sense to be caretakers with an attitude of the caretaker of this wondrous planet, then to be dreaming of being evacuated by a flaming chariot or alien spaceship?

The shift taking place is one of awareness or consciousness. It’s effects will be political, environmental, and economic. We can participate in the change, be  bystanders, or resist it wanting to return to the current hostile and wasteful attitudes which may be comfortable and familiar. We have the choice to embrace change at any time, it’s wholly optional to a degree. As resources dwindle and wars may need to be fought to uphold an unsustainable standard of living, you may have to sacrifice you son, daughters, and environment to try to maintain your current American standard of living. You may also have no choice if we continue to allow a corporate oligarchy to have the rights of an individual in our current legal system. To the degree the people recognize the situation and accept change and growth, the faster the transformation or “Shift” can arise.

The critical mass may arise in 2012, or sooner, or later. It is totally in out hands and hearts. My next messages will be the bases of what this “Shift” may look like. How we can participate in it, and what it’s results may look like 10 or 25 years from now.

Than You Are

Music and Lyrics: Lance Kurland

Have you had one of those days, when nothing seems to go your way,

More layoffs at the office, your friends have hit the street,

Your wife’s gotten another job, just to make ends meet.

The shift can take place, taking you far,

You’re so much greater than what you think you are!

Do you remember your dreams, can you make them real?

Do you wake each morning, with excitement you can feel?

Do you know what’s behind all the words that are said,

When you act in the world from your heart and not your head!

And the shift can take place, taking you far,

You’re so much greater than what you think you are!

Sometimes you have to believe, and take a chance one more time,

Sometimes you have to trust those feelings deep inside,

Because the things most worth embracing, are the things you cannot see,

Those changing tides in life… that set you free.

Is there something you’ve forgotten, something we both could share,

Discover a hidden talent, expressed beyond your fear.

We could make this country strong and live our lives in joy,

If we had a common purpose and a plan we can employ.

Come take a stand, just lend your hand,

In the end, we’ll call you friend,

And the change will become so clear to you,

You’ll find again that passion true… it’s all that’s left to do!

Come on board we’ll make it happen, together change our lives,

We’ll make a better world, not one just merely to survive,

When we work together, then together we’ll be strong,

We’ll leave behind a legacy our children carry on.

And the shift can take place, taking you far,

You’re so much greater than what you think you are!

You’re so much greater, discover what you are!
