Chapter 5: Mirrors and Projection

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

Seeing the many aspects of the Shift we are moving through requires us to stretch and open to new perspectives. At the same time we are witnesses to great social and personal transformations. When viewed in this way it is much easier to cling to the old ways to resolve conflicts and impediments to growth. Politics seem to be out pictures in some ways, of the personal dramas as we proceed through on our personal journeys.

It is painful and amusing how so much of what is presented in the corporate media is what supports the old paradigm of power and control. We see our own shadows as well as the desire to maintain the status quo. Almost any comment made by the political elite is a reflection of the fears of the tightly held old guard. When we hear of any comments to elicit fear we can almost always realize that these are projections of their own slipping hold on control. It is interesting that we have moved from “your either with us, or you are with the terrorists”, or your “unpatriotic”. Today it is “we” are fiscally irresponsible. These are the same people which have allowed the greatest transfer of wealth from the public to the corporate and military coffers. It is perfectly fine to give subsidies to corporations which have made the largest profits in world history (Exxon/Mobile), run our financial institutions into the ground (banking), and support a military that spends more money each year then the entire rest of the world combined. Yet we can invade other countries because 3000 people died on 9/11, but the 18,000 people who die each year because of our broken medical system is not worthy of financial consideration. These are not only political issues but Spiritual ones. Do we really care for each other and see us all as connected? Are we our brother’s keepers? How come almost everything we hear them say is a projection of their own inadequacies?  Is everything to be measured only on the basis of the bottom line? When did our country, the  world, and all of life become measured only in terms of financial gain or loss? Lastly why is taking care of our friends, neighbors, and co- workers not family values?

Last night a friend and teacher of mine made me aware again of the obligation we have to ourselves and communities. It is our responsibly to care for all of life. This resides on all levels of our being: personal, environmental, global, and political. Becoming more aware is a choice. A choice that informs all levels of our personal creation. Our desire to enhance all aspects of our life can be an obligation and tremendously rewarding. We also can get support for our choices. You are not alone in our growth and help is available on many levels.

It is said that when the student is ready the teacher appears, even more so when you have a passion to transform and elevate the planet. This aligns you with the Shift. As those who live in fear find mirrors who support their perspectives, when your intent and focus embraces change, like minded souls are attracted to you. They are there to aid you, mirror your heart, and inspire you to follow your Truth. Not only will you find friends become more aware by your interaction with them but your life will also transform to meet your new consciousness.

Allow your new song to express the very best of the gifts and talents you have to offer. There may be very challenging and dark days ahead as the world brings forth new political and monetary changes. It is wise to hold fast to your inner light and the love of those around you.

We are One

Lyrics and Music: Lance Kurland

We are Love, we are real… We are life, we can feel.

We can touch the stars, and play with Mars for fun… We are One.

We are soft, we are fine… We are points, we’re a line,

We can touch the sky, and if we try the Sun… We are One.

We needed you yesterday today we need you more…

The  one thing I know… of these feelings I am sure!

We are now, we were then… we’re beginning, we’re the end,

With a laugh we know, the journey has begun… We are One.

The Shift : Chapter 1 In the World

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

I know we are part of a larger global and planetary movement currently transforming our world. You may denigh it or be insensitive to it but it is going on nonetheless. It will go on with our help or without it. Yet our participation can further it’s progress for we are all connected and even our thoughts effect the world.

What is this shift? How can we make a difference?

It is clear that America is in transition. It can no longer be a lone world superpower, nor can we continue to measure power solely on economic of military terms. It is clear a new definition is emerging, and America can lead this movement of be at the effect of it.

Resources are dwindling worldwide and by whatever terms you measure prosperity unfettered consumption of natural resources and the resulting accumulation of waste cannot continue. Nor can we as a planet sustain the greenhouse gas emissions generated by a consumptive  linear lifestyle which is out of control. The acquisition of natural resources in third world countries by overthrowing legitimate forms of government and putting into power our proxies will no longer be hidden, and the viewing of these situations will come to light even further as these practices by large multinational corporations come to light.

Concurrently an expansion of the awareness of the interconnections world wide are becoming more apparent. Whether it be our effect on the environment or our effect on each other, communications are making this a smaller world indeed as government are having a harder time controlling the information to subjugate populations and allow pollution world wide. We are all effected, and we cannot send all the waste into space. The linear thinking of waste and conquest are empty when seen in light of the whole. You can hope for to be gathered up into heaven, but tomorrow you most likely will wake up in the world with the same problems and concerns you went to sleep with the night before. Doesn’t it make more sense to be caretakers with an attitude of the caretaker of this wondrous planet, then to be dreaming of being evacuated by a flaming chariot or alien spaceship?

The shift taking place is one of awareness or consciousness. It’s effects will be political, environmental, and economic. We can participate in the change, be  bystanders, or resist it wanting to return to the current hostile and wasteful attitudes which may be comfortable and familiar. We have the choice to embrace change at any time, it’s wholly optional to a degree. As resources dwindle and wars may need to be fought to uphold an unsustainable standard of living, you may have to sacrifice you son, daughters, and environment to try to maintain your current American standard of living. You may also have no choice if we continue to allow a corporate oligarchy to have the rights of an individual in our current legal system. To the degree the people recognize the situation and accept change and growth, the faster the transformation or “Shift” can arise.

The critical mass may arise in 2012, or sooner, or later. It is totally in out hands and hearts. My next messages will be the bases of what this “Shift” may look like. How we can participate in it, and what it’s results may look like 10 or 25 years from now.

Than You Are

Music and Lyrics: Lance Kurland

Have you had one of those days, when nothing seems to go your way,

More layoffs at the office, your friends have hit the street,

Your wife’s gotten another job, just to make ends meet.

The shift can take place, taking you far,

You’re so much greater than what you think you are!

Do you remember your dreams, can you make them real?

Do you wake each morning, with excitement you can feel?

Do you know what’s behind all the words that are said,

When you act in the world from your heart and not your head!

And the shift can take place, taking you far,

You’re so much greater than what you think you are!

Sometimes you have to believe, and take a chance one more time,

Sometimes you have to trust those feelings deep inside,

Because the things most worth embracing, are the things you cannot see,

Those changing tides in life… that set you free.

Is there something you’ve forgotten, something we both could share,

Discover a hidden talent, expressed beyond your fear.

We could make this country strong and live our lives in joy,

If we had a common purpose and a plan we can employ.

Come take a stand, just lend your hand,

In the end, we’ll call you friend,

And the change will become so clear to you,

You’ll find again that passion true… it’s all that’s left to do!

Come on board we’ll make it happen, together change our lives,

We’ll make a better world, not one just merely to survive,

When we work together, then together we’ll be strong,

We’ll leave behind a legacy our children carry on.

And the shift can take place, taking you far,

You’re so much greater than what you think you are!

You’re so much greater, discover what you are!

Who and why…

This is the beginnig of my personal blog to keep friends updated on what is going on in my life and how it effects the world. Remember we are all connected.

In getting started be aware I have several project on going and many changes in my life and the world. We are all entering the deepest recession in our nation’s history which is part of a much larger transition on the planet. This is truly a time to reevaluate our values and approach to what life should be, and what priorities we should embody.

Are our values related to what we buy, or who we are? What is the foundation of our happiness and how does it effect the society around us, and the world in general? Why are we here and who are we as inhabitants of a truly wonderous and beautiful planet?

My answers are found within and radiate outward to those who I touch daily. I know we are spiritual beings having a human experience. I take responsibility for my life and recognize my actions have consequences on others. I am here to both heal myself and the world around me. The foundation of this transformation has to be rooted in Love or it is bound to return in dramatic and unproductive ways. My world is not based on profit but production. My thoughts and actions are seeds which bear fruit. I have always been a healer and an activist. I helped create a labor union, ran for state wide office and participate in creating the Organicfest each year here in Western North Carolina. I am a musician and songwriter sharing insights and uplifting the spirits of those who cross my path and share my journey. I am also a business person, insurance agent, home security adviser,  entrepreneur, network marketer, and Spiritual Dreamer working to enrich the lives of others. Careful of the integrity of the companies I deal with and the services I offer.

I hope you will follow my journey, add constructive comments, share ideas and wisdom you have lived, and participate in this great adventure we jointly create
